– News and Comment by The Colonel
– Darin Selnick, USAF (Ret) – The GI Film Festival (gifilmfestival.com) is the first in the nation to exclusively celebrate the successes and sacrifices of the service member through the medium of film, honoring the heroic stories of the American Armed Forces. Some films screened are voted on by fans, others are screened for the first time. All express the courage and selflessness of our fighting men and women. The Festival is open to filmmakers of every experience level, from first-timers to veteran directors and producers. Prizes are awarded annually: feature, documentary, and film shorts.
– Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) discusses the security threat of our mounting national debt and what can be done about it. Washington is asking veterans and their families, who have already sacrificed so much, to bear the brunt of Washington’s spending addiction. You can sign their Cut Debt Not Vets petition that demands true spending reform. See more at: concernedveteransforamerica.org. CVA is also participating in the GI Film Festival.
– Mel Bauman, USA (Ret) – on Hero 2 Hired – A government program assisting Reserve Component service members to connect to and find jobs with military-friendly companies. H2H also offers career exploration tools, military-to-civilian skills translations, education and training resources, as well as a mobile app.
