Defense Secretary Gates said it would be inappropriate for McChrystal to testify on the advice given to the White House while the president is weighing strategy on Afghanistan. This is pure politics. McCain wants to embarrass the administration for their ridiculous waiting game on allowing the general to simply submit his report—and the democrats are trying to hide the fact that there simply is no leadership in Washington./blockquote
