Happy Birthday, US Navy

The US Navy’s birthday is 13 Oct 1775. Marilyn and I attended the local Navy Ball last evening to celebrate that birthday. It was hosted by the NOSC (Navy Operations Support Center–what used to be called the Navy Reserve Center) in Grand Rapids. Their CO, LCDR Brian Harp, is an active duty SEAL and will return to operational duty by the end of the year. I really appreciate the folks in the Navy Reserves and was proud to join them. Wish a sailor “happy birthday” this week.

  • Colonel,

Sorry I missed you at the Navy Ball! I don’t know if Sheryl told you, I transfered to NOSC Toledo. I was fortunate to grab a billet with Navy Costal Warfare out of Toledo. Navy Costal Warfare (now called Maritime Expedionary Security Force) is the latest reincarnation of the “Brown Water Navy”. Combat unit with an almost unlimited budget. Lots more fun!
