Yes, the Republicans kicked butt last Tuesday. But it was not really a big win for Republicans. Many of the new members of congress are what the media calls “Tea Party” Republicans–though many of them were not involved in the Tea Party specifically. Many were affiliated with Icaucus, Combat Veterans for Congress, and many other conservative movements. All these folks know that government grew in size and intrusiveness under Bush, too. They want no part of “Main Stream Republicanism.” So what will happen? Stay tuned. Bottom line; we Americans have to hold our Congress-critters accountable for every vote for the next 2 years. They need to represent us. Big Question: Can we stay focused that long?
