Obama’s birth question – again

The Supreme Court is considering whether arguments should be heard on Kerchner v. Obama, a case challenging whether President Obama is qualified to serve as president because he may not be a “natural-born citizen” as required by Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of our Constitution.

Unlike other eligibility cases that have reached the Supreme Court, Kerchner vs. Obama focuses on the “Vattel theory,” which argues that the writers of the Constitution believed the term “natural-born citizen” meant a person born in the US to parents who were both American citizens.
If the Supreme Court decides to hear the arguments on this case it could well be the end of Obama’s Presidency. It will certainly cause a constitutional crisis—we’ve never had an “unconstitutional” president before. Will his appointments to his cabinet be valid? He just appointed a new Commandant of the Marine Corps; will that stand? How about international agreements? It will certainly affect Colonel Lakin’s courtmartial.

And, as before, maybe the Supremes will decide not to pay attention to this case. Stay tuned.
