The Grand Rapids Press reported today that a short time ago a citizen woke up to someone ringing his doorbell very late at night. Then he heard his back door being broken in. The citizen got his shotgun, called 911, and waited. Then there was someone in his home headed towards him; the man fired 4 times. From the hospital the perp complained that the homeowner was trigger-happy and no one should be allowed to shoot someone who is unarmed.
The legal system felt, correctly, that the homeowner was 100% in compliance with the law. My advice to the perp. Try it in my house and you won’t get hit with bird-shot; it’ll be .357. Citizens are permitted to and must defend themselves. As good as our police are, had the perp been armed and hostile, they wouldn’t have arrived in time.
The home owner should practice more he should not have missed that many times.
I agree. I use 357, too.
