FRONTLINES OF FREEDOM WINS TWO AWARDS, EXPANDS SHOW, AND ADDS 1030 KVOI AS NEWEST AFFILIATE
Frontlines of Freedom Earns Two MAB Broadcast Excellence Awards, Expands Weekly Show to Two Hours, & Welcomes KVOI AM 1030 in Tucson, Arizona
It’s been a busy month for the weekly military news and talk radio program, “Frontlines of Freedom.”
On March 2nd, Frontlines of Freedom expanded from a one hour format, to two hours.
On March 13th, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters held their 2012 Broadcast Excellence Awards ceremony in Lansing, Michigan. Frontlines of Freedom received two awards in the Network Radio division:
– “Best in Category” Regularly Scheduled Weekend Broadcast Personality or Team
– “Best in Category” Special Show Broadcast Personality or Team
– “Best in Category” Special Show Broadcast Personality or Team
And on March 30th, Frontlines of Freedom will join the lineup of their newest affiliate:
1030 KVOI AM in Tucson, Arizona
Air time: Saturdays, 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. MST
Frontlines of Freedom’s Host, Lt. Col. Denny Gillem, U.S. Army (Retired) is fired up over the recent good news. “To be recognized again for producing a top notch program is not only good for our show’s team, but it sends the message to all radio stations that you too can add winning shows to your station’s weekend schedule. Our affiliates already know that, and we thank them for it.”
Frontlines of Freedom’s Executive Producer, Josh Leng, notes, “We made the decision to expand Frontlines of Freedom to two hours based on listener response, the Host’s desire, advertiser demand, and radio Program Directors’ feedback to have a longer show that offers a better ‘Time Spent Listening’ (TSL) opportunity to improve their ratings. The two hour program also ensures we always have enough time to fully cover all the important military news and issues of the day.”
Frontlines of Freedom can now be heard on 15 radio stations across America.
Gillem and Leng thank KVOI Program Director, Ray Alan, and Good News Radio Broadcasting’s CEO, Doug Martin, for adding Frontlines of Freedom to the lineup on 1030 KVOI “The Voice.”
Leng adds, “Frontlines of Freedom is a program that draws an audience anywhere, but especially in military towns and those with high veteran populations, and Tucson has both. We look forward to having Frontlines on 1030 KVOI in Tucson, a city I love and know very well.”
Frontlines of Freedom Host Lt. Col. Denny Gillem is a graduate of West Point and served 22 years in the United States Army, including two tours in Vietnam as an Airborne Ranger where he earned seven commendations for valor and two Purple Hearts. He also served as a Mideast War Planner and later ran the ROTC program at The University of Tampa.
Frontlines of Freedom is a weekly, two hour, military talk radio show for warriors, veterans and America-loving citizens, that offers “military and veteran information you won’t hear anywhere else.”
In West Michigan, Frontlines of Freedom airs on Saturdays, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. on 1260 & 96.5 WPNW, and on Sundays, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on 1340 WJRW.
