This week in Baghdad more than 100 US service members became naturalized citizens. Lt. Gen Charles Jacoby, Deputy Commanding General for Operations and Corps Commander, was the host for the ceremony. The 107 new citizens had come from 44 counties and decided to serve their new country before they even became citizens. Each candidate did have to pass two tests; the first required proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. The second was a civics test.br /br /I like the idea of requiring military service of all legal aliens who would be citizens–at least all whobr /are physically and mentally fit enough to serve. Let’s talk to Congress.
