From Secretary of Defense Gates down through the ranks, Pentagon officials are unhappy with the quality of work they’re receiving from the aerospace industry. So far the specifics are about missiles and target vehicles that don’t work properly–not things that put aircrews at risk. This isn’t good. The US leads the world in this arena, and quality has to be first rate. We are, indeed, moving quickly towards being a second rate power.
