At West Point we were taught that the Commander goes with his maneuver element to influence the action. Our nation’s So-Called-Leader goes on vacation in South America while France and Britain argue over who might take over from a US Command who has had most of its options tied by orders from on high. And, it appears, that both Democrats and Republicans in Congress believe that the Pres has far exceeded his powers—the War Powers Act seems to give him power only if the US is in peril. I’m hoping to see a number of highest level people in the Pentagon resign in protest—but I’m not holding my breath.
