Although some pentagon officers expressed concern that this would happen as long as 5 years ago, our military was unprepared for what happened this month. Iraqi terrorists hacked into the system to download video and communications from some UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). We keep thinking that we’re the only ones smart enough to fully exploit the internet. Yet the Islamofacists use it as their primary source of information and, to some extent, training. It has been suggested that we start thinking of cyberspace as being “battle space” and that we start developing the ability to wage war there. Not a bad idea.
