There is no shortage of people who want to become American citizens—that’s not surprising as we Americans enjoy more freedom and prosperity that citizens of any nation on earth.br /br /Many legal emigrants who seek citizenship join our military. I believe that this is an excellent way to show commitment to our nation—indeed, I think that service in the military should be a requirement for US citizenship, for those able to serve.br /br /Well, on 12 Nov, Karl Eikenberry, US ambassador to Afghanistan, helped complete the citizenship journey for more than 120 US service members in a ceremony, by presenting them with certificates of naturalization. Eikenberry said. “I can’t think of anyone who more deserves to become a citizen of the USA than somebody that has served in the US Armed Forces.” I couldn’t agree more. Let’s make it law.
