Helping South Korea

President Obama was here in West Michigan today for the dedication of a new factory that will make batteries for electric cars. The plant is owned by a South Korean company. The federal government is paying for nearly half the cost of the plant–a plant that will make batteries for a vehicle for which there is no current consumer demand.

This is a good deal for South Korea–and they’re good people. Since our nation is very, very, very deeply in debt, why are we being so nice with our grandchildren’s money? Maybe it’s time to ask the South Koreans to start paying the cost of keeping our large army stationed in their country to protect them from North Korea.
