It was 5 years ago this month, on 27 June 05, that the US Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in Castle Rock vs Gonzales that despite court orders or anything else, we do not have the constitutional right to be protected from crime by the police. In this case, Gonzales’ ex-husband attacked her and her children.
The moral of this story. We don’t want to live in a society where there are police on every corner 24-7. So, each of us has to be ready to defend ourselves. The bad guys might be criminals or terrorists. The time to prepare is now.
