Early last May Philip Mudd, a veteran intelligence officer who has worked for the CIA and the FBI, was nominated to be undersecretary for intelligence and analysis at the Department of Homeland Security. He is well qualified. In June Mudd withdrew his nomination out of concern that attacks by Senate Democrats over his work on anti-terror programs would be a “distraction” to the Obama administration. This past November, CIA officer John Brennan pulled his nomination to be CIA deputy director for the same reason.br /Now, why would Democrats viciously attack the nominees of their president—especially very competent ones? It makes no sense—unless you realize how viciously many liberals hate those who keep our nation safe. Anyone who uses anything stronger than a “pretty please” is a villain who must be destroyed. Yes, our military falls into this category; they hate us, too. And these liberals now control our Congress.
