Vice President Biden recently claimed for the administration the credit for the great successesbr /we are experiencing in Iraq. And there are successes, but their government is no where near ready to stand alone.br /br /We live in a nation where most young people are focused primarily on themselves; yet our young airmen, sailors, soldiers, coast guardsmen and marines serve a much higher calling, true to their oaths to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…” If only our political leaders had any concept of those values.br /br /In Iraq and in other operations around the world, these young folks, and those in their chain of command, have made real progress toward establishing a functional, sustainable democracy in the heart of the Middle East. And despite what Vice President Joe Biden may believe, this remarkable achievement is theirs, not his.
