I don’t have any details, but I just heard that a lesbian soldier has sought refuge in Canada claiming that she was threatened by her fellow troops because of her sexual orientation. This is weird. While I don’t doubt that there are some people in the military who would threaten someone on this subject, the chain of command and numerous laws on the books would more than protect anyone. Seeking asylum in Canada because she isn’t safe in today’s America? Let’s wait to see what happens, but this smells like–well, you know.
