Socialism is contrary to our US Constitution, yet 70 sitting members of the US Congress advocate it.
Socialism is an economic system characterized by social ownership and control of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy, and a political philosophy advocating such a system.
Proponents of state socialism seek the nationalization of the means of production, distribution and exchange as a strategy for implementing socialism. Social democrats advocate redistributive taxation in the form of social welfare and government regulation of capital within the framework of a market economy.
Socialism has come to signify opposition to capitalism and advocacy for an alternative system based on some form of social ownership. Socialists have advocated the creation of centrally planned economies directed by a single-party state that owns the means of production.
Socialism is not compatible with the Constitutional Republic created by our Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. By definition, Socialists seek to end the form of government we now have and that means they are anti-American.
There is a Socialist Party in America; they used to run a candidate for president, but stopped years ago when the Democratic Party’s “liberal” agenda became very much like their agenda.
For whatever reason, The Socialist party of America felt secure enough to announce the names of the 70 Democrats in the US Congress that belong to the Socialist Caucus. The list was first published in their October 2009 newsletter. This admission was recently posted on Scribd.com :
