Meirong Wang was born in and attending college in China; as she was finishing her degree and looking forward to teaching high school physics she had the opportunity to travel to the US. Once she was here she decided to stay; she wasn’t renouncing her country of birth as being wrong—she was embracing the freedom and people she found in the US. She was not in her new capacity long before she volunteered to serve her new country and joined the army. She’s now Specialist Wang, a human resources specialist stationed in Iraq. And she was recently selected as Soldier of the Quarter for TF Mountain Warrior.br /br /I honor Specialist Wang for her demonstrated patriotism. I wonder why so many native-born Americans don’t feel the need to serve and defend their country.
