The Bengazi Confusion

Yesterday afternoon and evening, FOX News reported the reason for Admiral Gauoette’s relief from Command of his Carrier Battle Group which is in the Mideast. According to FOX, the relief came because of things the Admiral said regarding the President and Administration’s handling of the Libya Benghazi situation.

Note: the Admiral’s forces were too far away to provide any physical support to the al-Qaeda attack in Benghazi.

It seems that FOX News is the only outlet covering the enemy attack on Bengazi. FOX has surfaced a “smoking gun” cable from 16 August sent with an assessment that the “Consulate” was inadequately defended to withstand a coordinated enemy attack. Also, it is becoming quite clear that Ambassador Stevens was involved in getting sophisticated weapons to rebel forces (including al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood) in Libya when Khadaffy was overthrown and executed. Reporting indicates that Stevens was involved in the buy-back of the weapons we had given to the rebels and shipping them to Turkey for further transport to Syrian rebel forces which include both al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood forces.

Stevens was a brave man doing what he was told, but getting weapons to the Islamists in the region is certainly bad for America.
