Our current president is, well, gaffe prone. While addressing the US Army’s 10th Mountain Division he said: “Throughout my service, first as a senator and then as a presidential candidate and then as a president, I’ve always run into you guys. And for some reason it’s always in some rough spots. First time I saw the 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”
Unfortunately, Jared Monti was actually killed in Afghanistan on 21 June 2006. Obama did award him the Medal of Honor, but he did so posthumously in September 2009. President Obama presented the first Medal Of Honor to a living recipient who served in Afghanistan, Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta, last year.
It’s true that President Bush made as many goofs as is our current Commander in Chief.
The big difference is that the Main Stream Media never covers any of his goofs. It may be because they have all their attack dogs working on killing Sarah Palin. I still don’t know how any of the Main Stream Media types can show their faces in public. As I talk with veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan they all only agree on one thing—that is that the Main Stream Media totally blows all their stories on the war. Fox, they say, gets it right about half the time. Other than that, it’s totally baloney. We don’t know what the reporters tell them—all we know is what the editors decide to show us. Shame, shame on those editors.
