The Pentagon creates a Quadrennial Defense Review–to look forward and provide the basis for planning; it’s just out. The focus is on defeating the bad guys in Afghanistan and Pakistan and that region of the world. It also mentions Iran and North Korea. These are reasonable and expected topics. However, there is no mention of other threats, and the QDR should be quite comprehensive. I hope that this is not yet another example of our nation’s defense being degraded.
