There is a country with the largest population of descendants of African slaves in jail. The top leadership of the struggle for civil rights in that country is black. They have tried to promote social and political change using the non-violent methodology of Martin Luther King. For that they are in prison, some serving 20 year sentences. They are being totally ignored by their black brethren in the US. In fact, the Congressional Black Caucus traveled to that country recently and didn’t even inquire about them, much less demand to meet with them. Instead, they returned to America and said their dictator-jailer is one of the brightest men they have ever met. That country is a well-known bridge for drug traffic from Latin America to our very inner city violent-ridden black neighborhoods in our country. The current US administration is seeking “normalization” with that country. The country is Cuba, the longest lasting dictatorship in Latin American history. Sort of makes you proud to be an American, doesn’t it? No, it doesn’t. What the heck is going on here?
