Let’s see. The Obama Administration has charged the Times Square Bomber with attempting to use a WMD. These same folks have previously claimed (while criticizing Bush) that Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) must be a working Nuclear, Chemical, or Biological weapon, not just components and uranium and chemicals and unfilled warheads. Now they say that a homemade bomb that was to be ignited by M80 firecrackers is a WMD. One guesses that IEDs that are being used in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Israel are now WMD—if they explode?
A friend of mine suggests that they’re just trying to re-define the term now to puff up the image of the administration’s own actions. Yup.
